If people has to mention the main, popular London attraction they probably would say The London Eye, which is definitely at the top of the list, but there is so much more.
London has all kind of options for you, whether you want to laugh and have fun with friends or spend quality time in the city with your family and kids. In this city you have amazing attractions, or kids-friendly, or even terrifying, creepy attractions; all of them definitely worthy.
After you visit The London Eye, you can go to incredible places such as Madame Tussauds (a waxwork figures museum where you can find famous politicians, celebrities and many more) or Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! (full of all kind of interesting, disturbing and/or fascinating artefacts from any corner of the world). If you are a History lover you will be happy to visit The London Dungeon, the Tower Bridge Exhibition and the HMS Belfast. In the other hand, if you’re coming with children you have wonderful places like Shrek’s Adventure or Kidzania, as well as London Zoo or London Aquarium, that you will enjoy, no matters your age. In all cases, if you have short time and want to squeeze your trip the most, we offer you some useful tips for London’s attractions.

WHERE ARE LONDON’S MAIN ATTRACTIONS?

A good news is that most of London’s more popular attractions are in the central area, so is easy to visit them in a row, or include them in your visit to London’s monuments. London Zoo, Madame Tussauds and The Sherlock Holmes Museum are close to the Camden Markets while Ripley’s Believe it Or Not! is on Picadilly Circus, at walking distance to popular places (part of our tours) like Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Chinatown. HMS Belfast is near The London Bridge Experience and, on the other hand, London Aquarium, The London Dungeon, The London Eye and Shrek’s Adventure are really close one to the other.

PRICES

London’s attractions prices can vary, but they are generally expensive, so if you still plan to visit them, we recommend you to buy tickets online to save some money. For example, you will pay £27.95 if you buy tickets at the door of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! while you will pay around £14 if you purchased them online, within 14 days or more in advance. Anyway, you should know that the majority of London’s attractions offers discount for people with mobility issues, seniors, students, families or groups, as well as free entry for children under 5 years old. The cheapest mentioned attractions are the London Bridge Experience (£12.95 online) and the HMS Belfast (around £16) and the most expensive is The London Eye (with prices from £22 to £50, depending on the package you buy). You should also take into consideration the season and if it’s on weekend or in a week day, because that also varies according those patterns. A good choice is to get combined tickets to visit more than one attraction: like the “See London your Way” ticket, that allows you to visit the London Dungeon, the Aquarium, Shrek’s Adventure and even The London eye for only £39.

LONDON’S ATTRACTIONS SCHEDULES

Generally, London’s attractions open around 9.30 and close around 19.00 (closing the doors for new entries at least one hour before). They normally don’t open on December 24th and 25th. Anyway, to be sure you better visit the attraction’s website before and check it, because some places are open every day, including weekends, with even more open hours those days but others can close one day or also close earlier in winter (like the London Dungeon and HMS Belfast).

VALUABLE TIPS

We recommend you to take some food with you, or, depending on the attraction, eat something before the visit, because not all of them have restaurants or cafes. Also, don’t come with a heavy bag, because not all of them have storage facilities for your luggage. If you’re vising on summer or holidays, you should know that many places use to be really crowd and busy, so you should better get there early. Similarly, there are some attractions that we don’t recommend to visit in rainy or windy days, like HMS Belfast. In some attractions like The London Dungeon or The London Bridge Experience the use of cameras and phones inside is forbidden. And talking about The London Dungeon, we should also tell you that is not really appropriate for small children.
